3 Tips to Get Through the Holidays with Ease:
For those of us who've lived with loss, Christmas can often be a reminder of the loved ones that are no longer with us.. So I've decided to share these three tips on getting through the holidays with ease.
Here they are:
1) Connect to whatever is present.... whether it's joy, a sense of loss, numbness, vague celebration, ecstasy, anger...
FEEL all that is present for you now!
(and remember not to get caught up in the mind... stay in the breathe and body, this is what will keep you present to 'what is', and help prevent you from getting lost in the 'has been'.)
2) BE YOU!
Gift yourself the satisfaction of being fully you during the holiday period! That's a gift you're worthy of receiving... and can be such a blessing to those around you.
3) Reach out... seek the support and comfort you need during this time.
Sometimes we have to take action in the way we want others to act towards us... so if you're in need of a phone call, pick up the phone and call someone you love. If you're in need of a hug, find someone and give them a hug (with consent, of course!)
